Re: [opensuse-artwork] new artwork too light
Hi Marcus, Thanks for this.. I'm not sure I like the 'grey' it fades to? can we get something in green, but with that 'brightness'? I totally understand about the whole brightness thing - finding that sweet spot can be quite hard (some of my favourite drafts were universally condemned as way too bright) I'm still going to have a go myself when I get a second (and thanks to your svg it'll be a ton easier! THANK YOU), but the day job is extending into an evening job tonight..grr database upgrades.. Rich

While requests are a good thing, it seems that we may be backtracking from the work that was originally voted on. Obviously, the artists who worked on the wallpapers designed them to be in a certain way based on their expertise. It would be beneficial to realize that while this artwork may seem "light" for some, it is not so for the rest of us. In case that this artwork was too light in the eyes of some, then adjustments can be made locally and not at the root, meaning that you can change the settings of your particular monitor to see an image better. Now that the release is coming close, we need to focus on solidifying the designs as intended by the artists and after that we could tailor some wallpapers to particular needs. We need to move on from this discussion and get to forming the wallpaper package for openSUSE 12.1. Andy On Fri, Sep 30, 2011 at 12:34 PM, Richard Brown <rdb@ccb.ac.uk> wrote:

there where no vote on one special work, only on color and concept

I tried for nearly any monitor configuration, but if I mpake it work for 12.1, it don't for 11.4 (on the same computer, so on the same monitor) I don't *require* anything, just report a potential problem. jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xgxog7_clip-l-ombre-et-la-lumiere-3-bad-pig... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGgv_ZFtV14 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+help@opensuse.org
I see, sorry if I misunderstood. Green has proven to be a tricky color to work with. Surely we could do something about it after the release. It could be a matter to discuss during our artwork meeting after release. Probably we need to settle on a reworked color palette. Keep the thought JDD.
