[opensuse-artwork] website moved forward, not there yet. ARTWORK NEEDED ASAP!
Heya all, As the subject says - I've spend a number of hours working diligently on the website. It is not there yet but can be, soon. The location page needs work on hotels, public transport and such and we need links to LinuxDays and the Gentoo Mini Summit website (even if it is just a static page for both, SOMETHING should go up ASAP). But I already did a lot, including putting the CfP page on there. The artwork is also needed, of course - I hope anditosan or someone else can make some time soon. For now, I picked this as the 'final logo': http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/oSC_Logo_anditosan.png Resized to 200x300. Obviously this ain't perfect, I hope we can come up with a better one before Monday. URGENT: We will also need adjusted versions (for our poster and the site) of the Gentoo, SUSE Labs and LinuxDays logo tomorrow to be fit in the 2x2 format poster, in SVG if possible - so I can print posters for LinuxTag!!! Tomorrow means within 24 hours of this email - and that's already pushing it as I need to go to a copy shop in time... Michal, Pavol and anyone else on the local team: I need you to review the current website and help make it ready for launch. As reminder, it's in github: https://github.com/shayonj/openSUSE-Conference There is easy stuff there: a picture of the university, for example. There is a number of 0-byte images in the static/images/conference directory, these need to be replaced. Mailing them to me is fine if you prefer that :D We'll also need artwork for the rest of the website (but we can probably re-use at least some of the summit stuff if we have no time). Shayon, any chance you can deploy the changes I made in the last few hours so we have an up-to-date thing to look at? I think it's time to just replace the current link on conference.opensuse.org to the portal with this :D I will now work on updating Indico as far as I can. Thanks all and please chime in! btw I know it's bad but this is what the poster will be that I print at LinuxTag unless we can come up with something better before tomorrow this time: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/poster%20temp.png On Thu, May 17, 2012 at 11:56 AM, Jos Poortvliet <jos@opensuse.org> wrote:

Well, quite a bit I think. To fit with the style, it needs the same makeover our openSUSE logo got when turning into this geeko head - same concept but entirely different drawing... But maybe the outline of the bottle is already close enough, trowing the color treatment at it will make it fit fine. Basically, my idea is that each conf uses their own logo, but the four together use the 2x2 'marilyn monroe' grid for a combined poster/logo. The logo's of course don't fit very well in that style in their original form but making them black&white outline, then coloring them - should probably go 90% of the way to fitting in just fine :D

I understand than - and like, too. I don't think it's within my graphics capabilities to do that within any reasonable timeframe, I'll have to leave the transformations to the openSUSE artwork team, who have been doing an excellent job thus far. -- Vojtech Pavlik Director SuSE Labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Color me confused, how is it different from this, which has been shared and discussed a couple days ago already? http://s1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/?action=view¤t=oSC_Logo2_anditosan_tiled.png I still like it, and I still am worried a bit whether it'll look as good with four different logos. -- Vojtech Pavlik Director SuSE Labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

I made some updates to indico. More is needed. The color schemes for example need fixing ;-) I put text in for the CFP and tested it. CFP is setup to turn on May 30. I updated the fields in the registration system and somewhat tested it. Registration will open June 1. Jos - you have some errors in your text. You reference the Summit where you should be referencing osc12. Also the registration amounts should be in euros (250 euros 350 usd) (35euros or 50usd) AlanClark -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org
