Hi Klaas and the other readers,
as we are working on a change of the branding guidelines to make it easier to do openSUSE based derivates of the distribution.
the easiest way - make only guidelines that helps us to stay out of license trouble. All other things I wouldnt try to regulate
For that, we will in one point of time need changed branding which reflects a "Built on openSUSE" trademark to be used by derivates (not yet settled and decided, but thats the idea).
there is already one, look at SUSE Studio (for my taste is to ugly, I would wish me a more decent there)
I'd like to ask if the artwork team would be so nice to come up with suggestions how we could vary the openSUSE distro branding to get the "Built on openSUSE" branding.
The nicest thing is only a little writing "based on openSUSE" or "Build on openSUSE" so for this we have nothing to do except the point them to fifth leg. What we can offer (can only speak for me) is, to give them help with artwork. Thats the best way to doing that, because it needs a little skills to do that. And so we make sure, that the derivates have a high quality with the design. And we make a strong conection back to us.
What do you think?
regards,
Klaas
