[opensuse-arm] Which packages for yast2?
Which packages do I have to install on a JeOS image to get the yast2 GUI? It's not yast2-x11, and yast2-control-center-qt wants to install 195 packages and 325MB - really? Surely the yast GUI doesn't need ghostscript, gstreamer, graphviz, a whole pile of languages I couldn't possibly understand, mozilla-nspr and more mozilla stuff, or parallel-printer-support, when yast TUI doesn't need all that?? yast2 works with ncurses in a termina l window (at least it used to...) - did you try this? For sure, if you install the qt component, there will be a bunch of dependencies behind..... Obviously yes. I don't quite find it satisfactory.

Yes, but plotting software and a postscript interpreter - for a GUI, for a program hat already has the equivalent ncurses functionality installed?!??? This YaST discussion has little to do with arm. If you want to complain about general packaging, try opensuse-factory list. As Guillaume pointed out, this is most likely due to recommended rather than required packages. You can try to install with --no-recommends flag to decrease the number of packages to install. Guillaume
Thanks muchly,
