I found u-boot-rpi3 was installed in the image. Tested only the JeOS image. After installation of u-boot-rpiarm64, which removed u-boot-rpi3, and a reboot the system saw the 4GB memory.
Great!
However the system also reported ext4 errors and some commands crashed.
Does dmesg show some errors regarding SD card? Guillaume
