Hi, I'm having issues with getting a display manager to start automatically on either my Pandaboard or Chromebook. Checking xdm.errors on boot up I have the following: xdm info (pid 815): Starting xdm info (pid 815): Starting X server on :0 X.Org X Server 1.12.3 Release Date: 2012-07-09 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Operating System: openSUSE SUSE LINUX Current Operating System: Linux chromebook.wafaa.eu 3.4.0 #1 SMP Fri Oct 19 00:55:31 PDT 2012 armv7l Kernel command line: cros_secure console= console=tty1 debug verbose root=/dev/mmcblk1p3 rootwait rw Build Date: 11 September 2012 07:45:08PM Current version of pixman: 0.24.4 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version. I can get to whichever display manager I choose by running 'init 5' after boot up manually, but it's a PITA having to log in as root and then re-enter init 5. I've checked my inittab and it is set to init 5, and sysconfig has lightdm set as the DM but I have tried with gdm and xdm, all with the same issue. Can someone advise on how to fix this?
