S-ATA HDs not detected during installation of SuSE 9.2 Pro
Hello, I'm trying to install SuSE 9.2 on a Workstation from Fujitsu-Siemens (M430, EM64T). My Problem is, that the S-ATA Harddrives are not detected during installation. I've tried to load some S-ATA-Modules with the manual-installation, but that did not work as well. Has anyone an Idea? Greetings Michael

if i remember correctly, that box has the newest intel 925x chipset. is that already supported by the 2.6.8 kernel? does it detect the sata ports at all? what about some other 2.6 distros, or the suse live media? didnt check the kernel mailing list on 925x support yet, maybe u should also be asking there. cheers.

Check your bios settings as the very first thing. If it's in any way similar to ASUS P4C800 then that should pay off. what chipset does the motherboard have. When you have this info your can make a search on www.kerneltrap.org and see how far they are. My bet is that you best fix is to start out from a ATA drive Johan

Put the SATA drives into "compat mode" (may be named differently) in the BIOS setup. -Andi
