MSI K8N Neo Platinum -- USB hotplugging
Hi, we have two machines with MSI K8N Neo Platinum mainboards and USB hotplugging doesn't work. Has anybody got it working with 9.2? Hi, not exactly my case: I'm running a MSI K8N Neo2 FIR board. hotplugging is usualy working, but USB is still a mess. Had to make sure that I don't use to much high power consumption USB hardware: have to replug usb mouse into PS/2 connector, only one device per bus, etc. Maybe this helps you? Regards, Klaus. The latest kernel update (2.6.8-24.14) fixed that: I can now hotplug by usb-stick. :-)) Best regards Martin -- http://www.tm.oneiros.de
Hi , I am new to the list...since I just bought an AMD64 based computer and I installed SuSE 9.1 x86-64 on it. It has an Asus A8V deluxe motherboard, and everything seems to work flawlessly except for the hotplug with an usb-stick. The USB-stick is recognized correctly by subfs, and i can mount it (as root). However, it never appears in the drives:// section. I tried to stop and restart the hotplug daemon with no success. Since people apparently had this problem with another mobo, it is maybe the same kind of problem. Is anyone has been able to have hotplug working with this mobo ? BTW, I have the last kernel update installed with YOU. Best Regards Matthias Le jeudi 7 Avril 2005 11:29, Martin Schröder a écrit :

I run SuSE-9.0 on my TP600E laptop and SuSE-9.2-x86-64 on my development box with A8V DL motherboard. On both machines a usb stick is mounted as scsi device, that is /dev/sda on my ldaptop and /dev/sdb on my devel box, the mountpoint is /media/sda0 or /media/sdb0. -Dieter -- Dieter Klünter | Systemberatung http://www.dkluenter.de GPG Key ID:01443B53
