This is not specific with SuSE, but gcc-3.3 seems to be buggy in the sense it fails in compiling euler-1.60.6. This happens also on 32bit RH8.0 and SuSE8.1 with gcc-3.3, while with gcc-3.2 no problem. Funny. yoriaki fujimori

Where and how exactly does it fail? What's the error message? Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SuSE Linux AG, Deutschherrnstr. 15-19, 90429 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
I mentioned euler-1.60 as an example. This is a very small package, so you can easily reproduce errors at hand. The problem is that gcc-3.3 cannot parse metaps.c properly. The same failure of compilation occurs on FreeBSD with gcc-3.3. I am not yet sure if gcc-3.3 is includeing right headers. yoriaki fujimori

If you have seen the failure yourself, then please just copy the lines here. It costs you less time to paste them than me to search for the package, download it and trying to build it.

There were some changes in GCC 3.3 were code that was previously allowed was removed, one thing is multi-line strings. With GCC 3.2 you got a warning, with 3.3 it's an error. It could be something like that. If you show the error message, I can tell directly, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SuSE Linux AG, Deutschherrnstr. 15-19, 90429 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
