Like clock work, every 5 seconds the w2100z systems pause for a fraction of a second then hurries to catch up to where it thinks it should be. The result is the mouse stops and jumps across the screen.
This is exactly the same problem as reported with the Sun w1100z (which is the same machine but without the 2nd CPU daughter board). http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-amd64/2005-Jul/0040.html AFAIK, the current workaround is acpi=off although it might be worth looking at SuSE 10 Beta 2 and, if the problem still persists, reporting the problem under bugzilla. It seems from the previous thread that the problem is unique to SuSE so perhaps a kernel patch has been missed ? -- John P.
