Hi, Can someone tell me if it's possible to get the GCC 3.4.x suite for x86_64? We are running on SLES8, which has gcc version 3.3 20030312 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux). I just downloaded SLES 9, and see that it has GCC 3.3.3. The problem I'm runing into is that I'm running up against what is most likely a compiler bug that caused numerical problems in R (www.r-project.org). For some background on the problem, see https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2004-July/030260.html. Some people reported success after upgrading to 3.4.x. I tried building GCC 3.4.3 and 3.4.2 from source, but the test failed. Would appreciate any pointers...
