After unsuccessful efforts of installing my SuSE 9.0 for Athlon64 on my Shuttle SN85G4 with only one SATA disk I decided to take that *nix system that will be first to support my SATA controller (Silicon Image 3512). The *BSD variants seemed to be on a good way but none of them finally recognized the controller. And now I see why I originally decided to buy that SuSE DVD :-)
After downloading the new ISO, burning it and booting from it the installation of the standard system finally succeeded :-D Thank you very much for your efforts in providing this solution.
Sound is working, too, the next thing I have to look for is getting the built-in network card to work ("NVIDIA nForce MCP Networking Controller" according to Windows XP). I probably will have to put a cheap PCI network card into the system until the NVIDIA Controller will be supported.
There is a "forcedeth" driver for it available, but it's not yet included on the CD, as far as I know. You can try googling a bit. -- Vojtech Pavlik SuSE Labs, SuSE CR
