It appears there is a bug with the initial SuSe 9.3/10 kernel's. It is related to the AMD Opteron dual-core processors. When it tries to initialize the CPU's it kernel panic's and locks up the machine. I had to install some Opteron 250 single core's, do the install, and update the kernel to the latest. Then re-install the dual-core CPU's to make use of them. Hardware configuration is as follows: Tyan S2892 2 - 280 Opteron's 8 - 2GB DDR400 1 - LSI MegaRaid 320-2e Is there a new ISO or boot CD that is available with the latest kernel or even a kernel that works with these CPU's? Or is there documentation on how to make my own with the latest kernel? We use SuSe 9.3 on all our server's and have our software ported/tested specifically for the lib's on this version.
