Hello, yes, I use reiserfs. However, I doubt that this is the reason for my problems. So far, I always started with a SuSE installation, always used reiserfs and then moved on to a plain vanilla kernel. Are you using reiser? The 'vanilla' kernels do not include the attribute patches included in SuSE's custom kernel. Mounting reiser partitions will fail.
I managed to work around this by removing the 'user_xattr', 'acl' parameter from /etc/fstab
