Auto Suspend Feature, Battery always displays %1

Hi I have been trying to migrate to linux full time. But I am facing 2 issues: 1. I see that my laptop (Acer Aspire 5000 amd64 turion, Suse 10 x86_64) does not show the exact battery status. Though the battery has full charge .... it just displays 1% when i log into KDE. 2. Auto suspend feature does not work ... similar to windows. I see that on the screen goes off ... and fan and processor just keep running when i close the display. Please put forward your suggestions. Thanks in advance, Best Regardz, Guru
