being updates for a rolling release seems a bit odd.
    So why?

I use the update repo, for example, if I have a new package that I want to install in between a rolling release. If what I want that is new for me happens to also have an emergency release that bypasses the normal release cycle, as Andrei says, it will be installed from the update repo.
