Ah! Success, or at least a step along the road.

There is no need to start a new terminal or to logout.

It's not a linux thing at all. It's adb. It's necessary to run

$ ./adb kill-server
$ ./adb -a devices

What is adb?

Telcontar:~ # adb --help
Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.32

Now I just need to understand the arcane-ness of udev rules :(

Oh, BTW, it seems plugdev is a built-in group on debian. I don't think
we have the same on opensuse.

So, Debian, not openSUSE. Or something in Android.
