Default install is using special subvolume for default DB locations without
extra Btrfs features slowing down the databases...

Who's databases?

I suspect that the guys doing the testing copied the database to the
/home partition for all the distros, which, incidentally is exactly
what happens in the real world, unless the machine is a server.

Joe User is going to use his own directory.

After all is said and done, more is said than done.
