Ihave a startup problem, the configuration is default en not changed so

Starting by hand gives the following error.

standard input is not a socket, assuming -D option
mkdir failed on directory /var/run/samba: Permission denied <<<<<<<<<
Failed to create directory /var/run/samba for pid files - Permission denied

That's a known issue and will get addressed on both levels. Samba and
the AppArmor profile.

For the samba side see bnc 856759

For AppArmor see bnc 856651

After creating this dir by hand.
JJM1:/home/hans # mkdir /var/run/samba

The same we do with the fix for 856759 via a systemd-tmpfiles
configuration.

- Create /var/run/samba with systemd-tmpfiles on post-12.2 systems;
(bnc#856759).

You need to have in the samba package changelog. At the moment these
packages are not yet in the openSUSE 13.1 update channel. But the
required fix is part of thae packages as available from the
network:samba:STABLE project at
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/network:/samba:/STABLE/openSUSE_13.1/

This is a minor issue. And we discuss at the moment how to address it
best. See
