[opensuse] getting a DisplayLink (usb -> dvi) video adapter on opensuse 12.1 to work. stuck at the 'green screen'.

i've attached a DisplayLink USB2->DVI video adapter

at my monitor, i see the fabled "green screen", whicu iiuc means the
adapter's live, but have managed to get no further; no display of
anything other than the green screen :-/

what's missing, or wrong, in my 12.1 config to get this working?
