[opensuse] installing virt stuff but not rebooting to the xen-enabled kernel

a nitpicky question here -- running SLES 11, decided to use yast to
install all the virt hypervisor tools and, obviously, since that
installed the xen-enabled kernel, i have to reboot to get that
functionality.

but before rebooting, in yast, i selected "Create Virtual Machines".
nothing. no dialog. no error. i assume that's because i still
haven't rebooted.

but if i select "Virtual Machine Manager", i at least get a dialog
box *telling* me that i can't connect to xen, maybe because i'm not
running a xen kernel, etc.

is there a reason that first attempt didn't say something similar?
or is there something else happening there? it's always nice to get
some feedback.
