No my card has 512 MB RAM.

When i open "NVIDIA X Server Settings", and then select "GPU 0-
(Geforce 8600 GT)" i get the Graphics Card Information
and there i can see that i have 512 MB. Just like on the box where
the card was in when i bought it :)

My new card likewise shows 512 MB in the nVidia X Server Settings

And likewise, I get this from "lspci -vvv" (when run as root, which gets
more information that in is available to non-privileged users). I don't
know why, but it, too, shows 256 MB, even though the card has 512 MB:
