Don't know if this applies to your version of SUSE, but you can set:

MAX_DAYS_IN_TMP

in /etc/sysconfig/cron to auto cleanup the tmp directory. For example,
mine is set to:

MAX_DAYS_IN_TMP="7"

This will cleanup any files not use for 7 days in the tmp directory. You
can also set the variable:

CLEAR_TMP_DIRS_AT_BOOTUP

if you want.
