[opensuse] Where does SUSE store RPM macros and arch

Despite the fact I have a 686 rpm --showrc gives me a build arch of i586.
I've looked in the /usr/lib/rpm/ macro places and can't find where it's set.
I copied the /usr/lib/rpm/rpmrc to both /etc/rpm as macros and my home
directory as .rpmmacros and changed the buildarchtranslate so i686 builds as
i686, not a i586. rpm --showrc still gives me an arch of 586.

Where do I find the rpmmacros files that OpenSUSE 10.1 sets this in?
