Um, pardon me if this is a dumb question... Don't WOL (wake-on-LAN)
capable network cards have a little dinky jumper from the network card to
the motherboard? A two- or three-pin? The ones they ship with 3Com cards
use yellow wire.

Do you have a WOL connector on the NIC? Is it connected?
