What version are we talking about? In 10.0 and 10.1 (the versions I have
immediate access to right now and can check), the valid characters for a
password in YaST are
"[-0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ!@#\$%^&*()
,;:._+/|?{}=\['\"`<>]|]"

so / but not \
