pciutils - depending on your suse-version, you could just use YOU, or simply grab the latest
version here:
ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/software/utils/
upgrading pciutils is not absolutely necessary.
For the Marvell ethernet controller, you suspect you will need the latest drivers from Marvell.
This looks like the only Marvell GigE driver -
http://www.marvell.com/drivers/driverDisplay.do?dId=107&pId=10
The source files seems to be from around august 2004, so your installed SuSE version may be
up-to-date.
Try loading the sk98lin module, then post the last/relevant lines of dmesg output.
