From a personal box perspective: I always Fat32 my Windows so I can read
write. Linux is excellent for backing up Windows data so I would do this more
often if you are on FAT and safer also especially if you use Reiser format.
Generally, the problem for me was hardware/9.1 (hard drive). Also I need to
update my bios, but was too lazy.
