Some years back I had a CS4232B card & had a difficult time, as well. What it
needed were the DMA channels, and anything else I could glean from my then
Win95 installation before it would work. It will work, but for some reason
it won't go quietly.

Not much help, I am afraid, but it is the best I can recall at the moment.
