No idea -- I don't use dial-on-demand. Have you tried connecting without? At a
root terminal check that speedtch and pppoatm kernel modules are loaded
(modprobe pppoatm), then the modem firmware (speedmgmt). Then try connecting
using cinternet.

Did you do an upgrade from 9.0 or a fresh install? Maybe something's changed
in /etc/ppp
