Try this instead. At the boot prompt put APIC all by itself. that is

Try it. What'ya got to lose?

I have tried it (with lowercase letters ?!) no change in the behavior of my box. Maybe I will try to compile the 2.6 kernel source on my 9.0 SUSE box to find out that the kernel is the issue or there is something wrong with the shipped SUSE kernel.

Can anyone point me to a good kernel compiling how to? (I have never done kernel compiling before).
