If you ran "xhost +localhost", then "xhost -localhost" will reverse it, yes.

If your problem is the same as the one I had, then yes. But YMMV, no money
back guarantee and all the rest of it :)

su
rm /root/.Xauthority
exit
sux

That's what worked for me
