No, lukemftp is the client.

You're running vsftpd.

Configure it in /etc/vsftpd.conf

BSD ftpd requires no configuration, basically, just to have it starting
in xinetd or inetd.

Depends on your own "better".

If you want easy, no configuration and secure enough, then ftpd is the way to go.

If you want scalable, highly configurable, very secure, then vsftpd.
