hi all,

i have SuSE 7.2 installed on a pentium 3 867Mhz machine together
with win2k.

recently i got a message that goes something like the following:

/bin/bash: error loading shared library,
symbol k not defined in ... GLIB_2.0 ... no such file or

this would happen at shutdown/reboot. after that a message saying
something like the following follows:

INIT: no more processes in this run-level

then i get no response at all. at that moment i would have to press
the reset button on the computer. eventually it couldn't load
libraries needed for running X. consequently i could not run X and
kdm failed to start. i had to do a fresh installation. however i am
still getting similar behaviour but less often.

another thing is the following message that is always displayed at

ioctl: LOOP_CLR_FD: no such device or address

any form of help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you in advance.
