mkdir /basement
mkdir /mirror

edit fstab, changing data1 and data2 to the corresponding directory names.

umount /data1
umount /data2

mount /basement
mount /mirror

If you still get nothing, try checking /var/log/messages and look for any
error messages from the time you 'mount'ed
