Did OpenSUSE/YaST team(s) give up on an effort to manage fontconfig effortlessly via GUI, or if not, what happened?

I personally considered this feature to be one of the distinct ones that separate OpenSUSE from other Linux distributions.
Are you willing to take on maintainership and address bugs as they are reported? Then it can certainly be considered to have a come-back. I feel like it's important enough to be present on a user's desktop. After the exams period (ends in a month) I'll definitely spend some time learning how to package and maintain RPMs (I have basic experience with Arch Linux user repositories), and then we'll see.
