Transferring all images is done. It's was a hell off a job, but o well.. Wrting my Quick and Dirty script didn't work out, since the actual files are stored in random subpages (eg en.o.o/3/3e, en.o.o/8/8f)
Yes.
Tried something with wildcards in my commands, but this resulted in an awful lot of shit on my computer, but no Images (not any that I was able to open anyway).
The logic is: Wiki article contains somewhere included File:Some_file_or_image.suffix File:Some_file_or_image.suffix contains among other things link (path) to actual image Some_file_or_image.suffix . Suffix is jpeg, jpg, png, pdf etc. So you can use wget to download File:Some_file_or_image.suffix then parse for: <server>/<path>/Some_file_or_image.suffix put that in the list and then ask wget to download the list and put all files in one directory. Upload is still manual procedure as MediaWiki software must know where the image is stored. As we didn't systematically use import feature now it can make unexpected conflicts with existing File:Some_file_or_image.suffix , nor very likely as Christian pointed, but still possible.
From the 3 pages in my previous mail, cancel that. Only transfer: LTSP_Old to Archive:LTSP Legacy
Just in case that you haven't seen. We decided to use Wikipedia style for article title and section title capitalization. They use capital letter for first word in the title and for proper nouns. Applied to above LTSP_old and Archive:LTSP_legacy. In general it would be Archive:Some_article_about_the_Internet . The Internet is proper noun in English.
I will do something nice with the other 2 in Portal:
After that, where done with this toppic!
