-J I set back the imagebackup of my OS so there was no trace anymore of compiz. Then I did the installation with the supplied above. The result was exactly the same error.

Hi
The answer to your problem still remains the same "Install and run compiz-manager to start it by hand."

Starting emerald /usr/bin/compiz (core) - Error: Couldn't load plugin 'ccp'
You either don't have compiz fusion packages installed or have version mismatch. Pastebin rpm -qa | grep compiz Cheers -J -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Look in /usr/lib (32bit) /usr/lib64/ (64 bit) and remove libIndirectGL.so.1. Then it will use the nvidia version. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thank you, now I am again one step closer to normal operation. The step of troltech makes it possible to start compiz-manager by hand. Your solution makes it possible to start compiz by the "Compiz Fusion Icon" The cube rotates, but I have no effects and no windowborders and some windows are only partial functional. The effects of the themes (emerald) are not visible. The command compiz --replace ccp & gives the following output. ----------------- hans@jjm1:~> compiz --replace ccp & [1] 5463 hans@jjm1:~> compiz: Trying '/usr/$LIB/libIndirectGL.so.1' ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/$LIB/libIndirectGL.so.1' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored. hans@jjm1:~> A handler is already registered for the path starting with path[0] = "org" A handler is already registered for the path starting with path[0] = "org" . . . A handler is already registered for the path starting with path[0] = "org" compiz (core) - Warn: No GLXFBConfig for depth 32 Should there be a nvidia version of libIndirectGL.so ??? its not in the filelist of the nvidia package. Don't remove the libIndirectGL.so.1 !!! Start compiz with "compiz --replace --no-libgl-fallback ccp & ". I just wrote 3 scripts to start compiz, start compiz config manager and emerald theme manager: 00:03 Rankin-P35a~/linux/scripts> cat compiz_start #!/bin/bash emerald --replace & sleep 1 LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 compiz \ --ignore-desktop-hints \ --replace \ --indirect-rendering \ --no-libgl-fallback \ --sm-disable \ ccp & 00:03 Rankin-P35a~/linux/scripts> cat compiz-settings #!/bin/bash compizconfig-settings-manager & 00:03 Rankin-P35a~/linux/scripts> cat compiz-emerald-tm #!/bin/bash emerald-theme-manager & Also Ted Markowitz found where in FusionIcon/data.py you can specify the command line option for fusion icon. Basically edit: /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/FusionIcon/data.py Change the following line to suit your needs. compiz_args = ['--replace', '--sm-disable', '--ignore-desktop-hints', '--no-libgl-fallback', '--indirect-rendering', 'ccp'] Works great! -- David C. compiz-manager is the script that does all that and starts fusion-icon too. http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_10.3/compiz-mana... Cheers -J -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
