PS: If I'm not crazy didn't I see your signature file imply you're trained as a lawyer? If so, how on earth do you find time to be constantly hacking on openSUSE, ATI drivers, compiz, etc.? :-)

Well, I finally just built 3 scripts. One to start compiz, one for the emerald themes manager and one for the compiz settings manager. And a fourth just to call kwin --replace & to go back to kwin before logging out or shutting down (It helps keep the systray apps in the tray and not scattered to the far corners of my desktop. And yes, I'm a lawyer by day and linux hacker by night. I was an aero engineer for NASA before going into law and I have always enjoyed messing around under the hood so to say. Some people play chess to relax, I plow through bugs and file bug reports. Go figure? In reality, it is just a little part I can do to give back to this great open source community. A great thanks to Ted Markowitz who found the needle in the haystack: -- David, I'm not sure if you're still experiencing problems with the fusion-icon application, but I found that editing the 'data.py' file which is installed under FusionIcon in the Python site-packages tree got it to work again. Simply adding the '--no-libgl-fallback' option to the following line in that file: compiz_args = ['--replace', '--sm-disable', '--ignore-desktop-hints', 'ccp'] -- That fixed it! -- David C.
