Hi All... I was given a TV card, but I have no idea who made it. There is no FCC number on it. But there is this number "P/N:PCB95103" Also on the chip is Bt878KHF 25878-12 C39100.2 9820 KOREA Any ideas? I'd like to find a manual for it. Also there is a large silver box on the card on this box is marked "NTSC USA". I'm guessing that this means that it's for the US TV system. If so, is it possible to use it in Europe? If your TV is capable of displaying US NTSC... There are some that are said so. I think US TV uses 30 Pictures / second opposed to -was it 25 full pic- in Europe. Juergen
Thanks!

The European and US tv systems are fundamentally incompatible. NTSC stands for National Television Standards Committee, or, by many Euoropeans, Never The Same Color. US tv uses 525 lines at a 30 Hz frame rate, with interlaced scan. European systems use 600+ lines (I don't remember exactly how many--625?) at a 25 Hz frame rate. Probably the color subcarrier is also different, since it was chosen to work with the US scan/frame system. However, if you had a VCR that played US tapes, into a US tv, you could probably feed it into the card. Or a camcorder with a US style output. --doug

This is the Brooktree, now Conexant chip. It's supported.

That means you've got a NTSC tuner. That won't work here in Europe as here you'll need a PAL tuner. Philipp -- Nothing would please me more than being able to hire ten programmers and deluge the hobby market with good software. -- Bill Gates, 1976
