I have given up on getting KPPP or Kinternet to work properly with the US Robotics ISDN TA usb adapter. It works great in Win2k but not in SuSE Linux. Does anyone know of an ISDN terminal adapter that will connect to ethernet router that is available here in the US that is National ISDN-1 or DMS100 compatible? Seem like everyone quite making them. Sorry I can't add anymore Art. By the way what Suse version are you using ? If /dev/modem is now appearing in kppp, then you need to link it to /dev/ttyACM0. If /dev/modem is not on your system (earlier post) then you need to create it. You need to research mknod. Brian Marr man ln NAME ln - make links between files SYNOPSIS ln [OPTION]... I get ln: /dev/ttyACM0: File exists. Seems like every suggestion runs into a blank wall. This worked when I done it with /dev/usb/ttyACM0, but KPPP still did not work. Could not open /dev/ttyACM0. I know /dev/ttyACM0 is correct because I can use kinternet and dial, but only get 64k connection, not 128k connection. Have a netgear rt338 ethernet ISDN modem router ordered. The command should be "ln -s /dev/ttyACM0 /dev/modem" to link the modem to the right port. I seem to remember a recent post about the 64K vs 128K connection. Something about changing a 1 to a 4 in some config file. There was a SDB article about it, you may want to either search the database or the mail archives. -- Joe & Sesil Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. Still get /dev/modem: File exists. Yes, I know about the SDB article. That only connects at 64k with a 1 though. Not much use in have ISDN if I can only connect at 64 K instead of 128K although it is still faster than 28.8k. The 1 does not multiplex the two line, 4 multiplexes automatically without intervention from the operating system. With the 4 though, It takes forever to connect and then it looses DNS when it automatically disconnects and reconnects. Don't have this problem in Windows. I think it is with the initialization which I tried to copy in to the ifcfg-ppp1 and wvdial.conf, but kinternet will send only the first initialization line. jvollmer@visi.com Use: ln -sf /dev/ttyACM0 /dev/modem
Still get /dev/modem: File exists.

What does "ls -l /dev/modem" give you. It will tell you where it is presently linked. If it is wrong, "rm /dev/modem", followed by the ln command I sent last time will create the right link. Sorry if this doesn't help, I don't have ISDN. -- Joe & Sesil Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
