I have been trying to install a couple of differant apps and I get the folling error, see attached. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. I would really like to get these working. Also one app tells me it caannot find ESD or Gtk. I know Gtk is on my machine but can find nothing about ESD. I would suggest you install a SuSE-supplied version of OpenOffice.org instead, but if you insist on using your download, you should run the install from an x-term (or similar) and use sux to switch to root. Otherwise it cannot open the configuration window.

Are you sure that your gtk and gtk-devel are the same version? The error told you to look in config.log for further information. What does it say? (Just the part where it tests for gtk, the rest is not relevant.) Regards Ole

Hi Ole, I went to /var/log and could not find a file config.log unless it is SuSE config and if I look there I see no errors except on wmmaker. If this is not what I need to look at then were do I need to look. BTW all the packages I loaded from the 8.0 cd's. Thanks David
