how do i remove entries from my path?
What shell do you use? Did you try "grep PATH .*: in your homedir? These questions are a little too general to do something useful with, so please elaborate. -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A. I don't understand what you mean. Do you want to change your PATH variable? You can do that within your ~/.bashrc file. Or do you want to remove actual executables from your path. The way the PATH works is that when you type a command that is neither a full or relative path, the system will search all directories listed in your path until it finds the appropriate command. Also, remember that the shell has builtins and you also may have aliases. To bypass the path for any command, specify a full path, such as /usr/bin/rm. On 23 May 2002 at 19:09, Landy Roman wrote:
