[opensuse] suddenly lost all Internet connection
Hello, I connected my leap 42.1/KDE laptop in a hotel to WiFi. It worked for approx 5 minutes then it suddenly disconnected and I find no way to connect again. I tried YAST network settings, switched to wicked and then back to networkmanager but on saving it says "error, no network". Rebooting did not help. I cannot select the WiFi icon in the applet. It is not the hotel WiFi. It works with my mobile phone and with the other laptops of other people here. My laptop doesn't see any WiFi, also not when I use my mobile as Hotspot (or how you call that). Please, where can I search for the reason? What can I do? Thanks for your help! Did you accidentally push the external airplane mode switch? -- Sent from my Android phone with K-9 Mail. Please excuse my brevity. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No, I did not. Actually I was on a website filling a text field when in the right lower corner a message appeared, that the wifi of the hotel was disconnected. So I wanted to connect again, but each time it connected, it immediately disconnected again. I then logged out and in, then rebooted, nothing helped. I opened Yast, as described in my first post, and on saving it said "no network". It is strange. It never happened before. Maybe it /has/ to do something with the hotels wifi which is extremely slow (it connected when I tried some hours later). I now can use the hotspot function of my android cellular (I have 4G) and it works fast an good since hours (fingers crossed, wood touched...). So, I'll see in the next days how it will be in other hotels... Sounds to me like someone in the hotel, or the hotel wifi provider, is running a reaper to shed load (resetting access point devices). Maybe some jerks trying to get their porn to stream properly. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
