I keep getting a segmentation fault on one of my SuSE 6.3 machines. Is this because of bad memory, hard drive, or something else? Any thoughts on how I would go about testing? I have tried THREE different hard drives, thou. -- Sam Carleton ------------ http://www.bigfoot.com/~scarleton (Homepage) -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Could be bad RAM. Does it segfault with a particular program, or just randomly? To test your RAM you should try Memtest86: http://reality.sgi.com/cbrady_denver/memtest86/ Hope that helps, Chris -- Apologies to everyone who has been waiting for replies off me over the past few weeks - I've been away from my computer. I've been getting them too when I download my email. I d/l it twice a day. So far I've had it seg' fault out on two different people both from onelist email groups. I don't want to sound paranoid, but I've been getting them since W$2K was released. Could ol' bill have done something to us? Later!
