[opensuse] gprahire IV tablet and gimp
Can anyone confirm that this combination will work with 11.0 and KDE4? The mouse move a and draws in GIMP as expected.. The pen moves but alas will not draw. Np combinations of pressure, will give me me a a trace onscreen. Failing that can anyone give me the name o a tablet which will work out of the box? I've given up on the Genuis tables. They are just not up to the job. Thanks L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

At the risk of underestimating your knowledge … Have you looked at File – Preferences – Input Devices – Configure Extended Input Devices? This allows you to enable/disable the pen/tablet/eraser and lets gimp treat each one differently (see the input devices dialogue). For example, you can set the pen to be a brush and the eraser to be an eraser; so no need to change tools. This works for me with an old graphire serial and should work newer graphires. If not, it may be worthwhile looking at the /etc/X11/corg.conf file (or configuring X again through sax to make sure it is picking up all the devices). -- JDL -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi I haven't had the time to check it in 10.3, but I needed http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/ to get my wacom working correctly under Suse 10.2. It is a very detailed howto to get it working (with a special driver). If it seems impossible to get the wacom working you may consider trying it. Neil -- There are two kinds of people: 1. Tkere were some wacom updates recently. My tablet still doesn't work on 11.0 either kde3 or kde4 It only works on a yast configured 10.3 with kde 3. Did you have any more luck?
