Dear List,
KMail on SuSE 8.0 is eating my email! When I open KMail, it displays a line per email that is in my in-box; the line lists "Subject" "Sender" etc. But when I click on a line it changes to "No Subject" and the content window below is empty!! I don't want to loose valuable emails; what can I do?
Does it happen for all folders? Did you try rebuilding the indexes? go into your Mail directory and delete any .*.index files there. Then start kmail.
Yep. Kill those index files... I saw this exact thing after I look at my Kmail-boxes with Mutt. Deleting the indexes cured it right away...
I doubt very much the mail gets "eaten". In your ~/Mail directory you should have all your mail as plain text, whether kmail can read them or not.
Indeed... On the subject of mailers... Would somebody please have a look at this mail, and check for malformed headers or anything else that might be wrong? After some interesting times configuring stuff, it *does* kind of look like I have a working Mutt/Procmail/Fetchmail/Postfix setup... I can't really find anything wrong myself, but I'm not too confident that it really *is* o.k. If this mail somehow ends up doing something nasty to anyone, I apologize ;) Sincerely, Jon Clausen
