I've looked and looked and I cannot find any Linux Drivers for the Sampo Alphascan 712, other than MS 98 drivers.
Monitors don't need drivers. What the OS needs is a description of the monitors capabilities, i.e. horizontal and vertical frequency ranges. These Windows drivers are nothing other then text files in a special format.
them both the same resolution or a location online that has Linux drivers for monitors.
Sax2 can read the .inf files for windows. The other alternative is to directly tell sax2 what resolution the monitor provides. Philipp
