What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]
There's the problem. You're changing the directory that *should* be coming up by default. This is the directory of the *"running"* kernel, not the sources, and it's /lib/modules/2.6.4-54.5-smp/build/include on my machine (SuSE 9.1 with the latest YOU kernel). Whatever you've done in the interim may change that. Look for what it should be exactly, but it will be whatever is in /lib/modules/<version>/build/include.
Well gee whiz.... on my system (which has a vanilla 2.6.6 kernel and is running VMWare 4.5.1 just fine) if you look in /lib/modules/2.6.6/: you will find: /lib/modules/2.6.6/build ---> /usr/src/linux-2.6.6/ which is *exactly* the same thing as what is coming up from vmware-config.pl (and it's always been that way) -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
