Probably the CD is bad, or slightly so. Still, you could try a manual mount...
Some people claim good results "washing" the CD with water and mild soap, but I would be afraid to try. But, if everything fails :-?

Washing with soap and water shouldn't hurt a thing. I even 'polished' dvd's and cd's to remove minor scratches with very good success using a light car polish or something similar.
